NonoCube hits iOS with puzzle blocks to spare
Facebook and Twitter promotion kicks off today for a chance to win free copies of the game
May 15, 2013 - Graycode Software, a Philadelphia-based mobile game and development firm, today launched NonoCube on iOS. NonoCube is a 3D puzzle game based on the classic nonogram puzzle (or "Japanese Crossword"). The game is now live on the App Store for $1.99.
In NonoCube, players use numbered logic clues to solve puzzles and uncover secret objects hidden inside. NonoCube builds its puzzles via a special algorithm that makes them challenging but also guarantees that a player will never be without a valid move or have to guess to solve a puzzle.
"From the earliest days of NonoCube, we set out to make a puzzle game that was backed by solid computer science and that improved the 3D puzzle genre," said Robert Gray, Founder, Graycode Software. "Our algorithm challenges players, but makes sure there is no guesswork needed to solve our puzzles."
For a limited time, NonoCube purchasers will receive an additional 30 brain-busting puzzles in the game's first "Platinum Pack." The Platinum Pack puzzles are the most difficult NonoCube puzzles developed to date and add an estimated 10 hours of playtime.
In addition, starting today and running through June 1, players can enter to win free copies of the game by guessing the total number of blocks used to create the final objects of NonoCube's "Normal Mode" game of 60 puzzles. Hint: The largest possible NonoCube puzzle dimensions are 9 x 9 x 9 (or 729 blocks).
Contestants can enter either by:
- Following @NonoCubeGame on Twitter and tweeting a guess to the account, or
- Liking NonoCube's Facebook page and submitting a guess in the contest thread.
NonoCube is also available for Android in both free and paid versions.
